They did a half day experience..which involved, wake boarding, aqua park and the Ringo ...It cost £40 each , which also included a wetsuit and all safety kit ..
Kids had a blast !! They had done aqua parks before , so knew what to expect.. wasn't the best or biggest one they've been on ..but said it was still good fun ..Then they did the wake boarding, which I thought they might find hard ..!! But what does daddy know ...
With the right training , they took to it like a duck to water ...The staff were brilliant and patient and got the boys on the boards in no time ...The only bit the kids didn't like was how cold the water was .🥶!
Next was the Ringo which the boys loved ..all I can say is JUST HOLD ON TIGHT...
Facilities ..There is a cafe there that did hot , cold and alcoholic drink and hot food ...Even a pizza oven cooking freshly made pizzas ..Would recommend this park to anyone who's kids or even adults fancy a action packed day ..👍👍
Great cup of tea too! Will definitely be back again x
Highlight was the wakeboarding lesson, Caleb excellent as a teacher and both my 15 and 13 year old able to pick it up quickly.
Loved the relaxed vibe of the actual venue, the food and drink on offer also good.
Really, nothing to fault. Even the weather was kind to us.
There's such a nice buzz and a lovely atmosphere of the place. Everyone is so friendly and supportive especially when our son broke his board but that soon rectified and managed to enjoy his session. Big Jo helped us fixed his bindings to his rented board and Harry fixed his board and was ready the next time we were back.
Sally on the reception and the other boys (can't remember all their names) were so lovely and helpful. All the ladies/boys at the cafe and pizza stand are very friendly and cheery. The pizzas are to die for and we also loved the chicken wraps.
The boys at the Wakepark were very supportive towards our son and very encouraging. The safety is of high standard as well.
The facilities, toilets and changing rooms are nice and clean. The lake is clean and the features are well maintained and the surrounding.
It's just a fantastic place. We spent mostly the whole day each time we were there, my husband and I didn't mind taking our son there although we were just watching him wakeboard and the others, we really enjoyed ourselves. Although the place was buzzing, there was a sense of tranquility as well.
Our friends that were also on holiday in Cornwall on our 2nd week, came and their kids and our son did the aquapark. It just didn't finished there as we all came back and their 2 kids did the beginners wakeboarding and now hooked.
We highly recommend the place and can't wait to go back and see the wakeboarding community again on our next holiday in Devon or Cornwall.
Thank you for a fantastic time. It made our holiday more memorable especially for our son.
We give the place a 5 star rating! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Based in a fresh water lake, Wake Park teaches all manner of water sports with some absolutely fantastic equipment and prices for hiring of wet suits, lockers and other requirements for your intended day out.
There is so much to do and the food is great, highly recommend the pizza. Tastes absolutely delicious and within expected price range of around £12.
Would give 5 stars, however, due to a lack of awareness from the lifeguards, seeing as one of the party broke their foot, and I personally had to help them off the obstacle and pulled them out of the water as well with no checks from the guards was a bit shocking.
The first aid crew on the other hand were fantastic.
Word of warning, for the obstacle course, it will drain you, is very tiring however is incredibly fun and an hour will give you the MOST FUN AND REWARDING WORKOUT OF YOUR LIFE!!!
Highlight recommended but just keep an eye on your crew 😉
We only booked the aqua park and we're sad that we were returning to Scotland the next day as I think the wakeboarding looks like great fun. I could see the staff giving tuition to a group of school kids and they appeared to be having enormous fun learning a new sport.
Great cafe too. On a sunny day, it would be great to linger here and watch people enjoying themselves too whilst eating delicious snacks prepared by the friendly ladies working the kitchen. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.
Fantastic for learning, trying new watersports safely and for seasoned wake boarders, ringos etc etc.
My daughter and her friends love the inflatable assault course, set on water.
Well priced food available.
Perfect spot whatever the weather, take a warm jacket if spectating as that wind off the Atlantic can whip around down there, even though its down in a little valley.
After finishing in the water we had freshly made pizza from the on site 'shack' - it was delicious, but more importantly they were super-nice when my son managed to drop his whole pizza on the floor. Without us asking they immediately said they'd make him another (which I certainly wasn't expecting).
The whole experience was great (despite the weather) and my youngest described it as being 'absolutely epic' (which I think is good).
We'll definitely visit again if we're in the area, and I'd highly recommend to anyone wanting to spend a happy hour falling into a lake after failing to balance across various inflatable obstacles.
My only gripe (which is minor) is the state of the track running down to the site - it vaguely resembled the surface of the moon and didn't (I suspect) do my car's suspension any good.
Then onto our wakeboarding! The instructors were brilliant (especially the lovely lady Luka?! who had all 3 of the kids standing up on the board in less than 15 minutes!). There are 2 straight cable lakes next to each other, the one without obstacles was perfect for the children who didn't need to worry about going into them accidentally! For spectators its fab as there is a viewing shelter and you can walk between the two lakes. Finally, the ringo rides which were such a laugh! For half a days entertainment and learning, it's such great value for money! Absolutely brilliant from start to finish!
Had the weather been nicer we probably would’ve happily stayed for much longer.
If we’re down this way again, we’ll be back.
Definitely recommend a visit here 👌
The staff are all friendly and helpful, the food options looked good, but we didn't try any on this occasion.
The prices for the activities and equipment hire seemed very reasonable, especially the half day option. I can see us making another visit here on our next trip to Devon/Cornwall.
The staff were so friendly and welcoming and you can see that it’s a proper home grown business and they all care about giving their customers the experience.
(We drove through a field of sheep)
Firstly the aqua park. This was great fun but very very tiring, despite being a group of very fit active people we were all knacked after am hour on the aqua park! Lots of fun obstacles including a trampoline and slide, but lots of energy required to drag yourself out of the water back onto the inflatables. The inflatables themselves were very grippy, not like the slippery plastic ones you get on holiday.
Then came the wakeboarding, the majority of us were completed beginners, myself included, so spent a lot of time making it 4-5 meters from the start point face down in the water 🤣. It was still great fun though and the instructors were fantastic, constantly giving tips and advice whilst keeping everyone cycling through to get a go on it. Sadly after just over an hour I still didn't manage to get very far and we got rained off due to a thunderstorm. However the place amazing and offered us a chance to come back the next day to finish our session.
The next day when we came back I decided to try the system 2 training lakes with 1-2-1 tuition for 15 mins. This was money well spent and wish I'd done it sooner. The instructor Ben, was brilliant. Patient, calm and explain things very well. By the end of the 15 mins I was able to go up and down the lake and even go one handed! Amazing considering the day before I'd spent 1 hour drinking the lake! Cut back to the wake park and I managed to get off from the start down to corner one almost every time (about 300 meters). The practice definitely gave me confidence. Just now need to learn how to corner! 😊
The food here was great too, had lunch and there Cookies are the best.
Looking forward to coming back sometime 👍
